The institution was established in 1979 with the name Adarsh Vidya Mandir Shiksha Mahvidyala, which was situated in Raja Park Jaipur. The college moved to Keshav Vidyapeeth, Jamdoli, Jaipur in the year 1997. The building of the college was built with the generous contribution of Agrawal Samaj and so its name was changed to Shri Agrasen Snatkottar Shiksha Mahavidyalaya. The institution is functioning under the auspices of Keshav Vidyapeeth Samiti, Jamdoli. The institution is situated in the lap of the nature in Arawali hills, near a pious and holy place “Galta”, which was the Ashram of Galav Rishi in the ancient times, at the village of Jamdoli in Jaipur (Raj.) It offers various courses including a Ph.D.(Education), M.Ed, B.Ed, B.A.-B.Ed., B.Sc-B.Ed., D.El.Ed., IGNOU (M.Ed., B.Ed., MA-Education, PGDSLM, PGDET, PGDEMA, PGDPPED). Apart from this, the college also conducts teacher orientation, training programmes and workshops for in-service teachers under CTE (College of Teacher Education) run by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, the Government of India. The college was upgraded to CTE in the year 2001. The college is approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and affiliated to the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. The institution is approved under section 2F and 12 B of UGC act 1956. At present it has an intake capacity of 50 Seats in M.Ed., 300 seats in B.Ed., 50 Seats in B.A.-B.Ed., 50 Seats in B.Sc-B.Ed., 50 seats in D.El.Ed., and 60 Research Scholars in Ph.D, according to the norms of the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. This institution is accredited with ‘A’ grade by NAAC.

The institute follows all the norms and decisions of the regulatory bodies such as NCTE, UGC, the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur and the Government of Rajasthan for the required physical infrastructure, recruitment of the faculty, admission procedure, fee structure, and curriculum to enact. The building of the institution is a good example of architecture. The campus is spread over 9.4 acres with an attachment area of 15 Beeghas. The built up area spreads around the whole campus. The institution has tremendous infrastructure including spacious classrooms for students, a girls common room, a rich and well stocked library, a large multipurpose hall, new well equipped laboratories, a spacious conference room, an auditorium and a comfortable staff room. The college also offers facilities for indoor and outdoor games in addition to a canteen for snacks and refreshment, provision for safe drinking water, first aid facility, and uninterrupted power backup. The whole campus is equipped with internet Wi-Fi and is having Color Printer and photocopier machines and Digital Boards.

The institution is the most leading institution in the state as far as research in education is concerned. The college has a very good number of doctoral faculty with 16 research guides. To the date as many as 171 scholars from this institution have been awarded Ph.D. degrees. At present 40 students, under the eminent guidance of the faculty of the institution, are pursuing research for the award of Ph.D. The college is upgraded to CTE under the centrally sponsored scheme of MHRD, the Government of India. Every academic year the institution under CSS (centrally sponsored scheme) conducts research projects to resolve various educational problems and meet the new challenges. Up to now 203 research projects have been completed. The institution conducts training in action research and research methodology at state and national level for the benefit faculty of DIET, CTE, IASE, NGO’s and teacher educators of M.Ed. The college has a team of dedicated and highly research oriented teacher educators. We have every right to pride ourselves on our contribution to research at various levels.
